MVHS Offers Household Sharps Disposal Program

UTICA – Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) offers the Household Sharps Disposal Program for community members to properly dispose of their medical waste. Items such as syringes and lancets may be dropped off any day of the week from 7am to 3pm at the Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) Energy Center located on the St. Luke’s Campus, 1656 Champlin Avenue, New Hartford, or at the Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Services (CRCCS) also on the St. Luke’s Campus at 1650 Champlin Avenue, Utica. Items dropped off at CRCCS may be given to the receptionist.

In addition, sharp instruments may also be brought to the St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC) Hospital Services Department, located in the SEMC basement, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm (excluding holidays).

Only items from private residences in clearly marked "sharps" puncture-proof containers will be accepted.
