UTICA, N.Y. –Michael F. Trevisani, MD, MBA, CPE, FASCRS, FACHE, has been named senior vice president/chief medical officer for the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS), serving as medical director for both Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) and St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC). In this role, Dr. Trevisani is responsible for overseeing the medical staffs of FSLH and SEMC, credentialing, the Medical Staff Office, Family Medicine Residency Program, Dental Residency Program, Palliative Care and Medical Libraries. He will be involved in the quality of medical care delivered as well as responsible for driving quality and safety initiatives throughout MVHS. Dr. Trevisani will also work directly with the department chairs, director of contracted medical groups and hospital-based physicians to coordinate patient care and safety efficiently.
Since January 2014, Dr. Trevisani has held the position of senior vice president /chief medical officer (CMO) for Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH). Prior to that, he served as vice president of Medical Affairs/CMO at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, New York, and UHS Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton, New York. Previously in private practice he also served as an attending surgeon in a fellowship program at Orlando Regional Healthcare System in Orlando, Florida, and served in a number of leadership roles including the position of chairman for the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Florida Hospital.
Dr. Trevisani received his bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He completed a residency at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Affiliated Hospitals in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Trevisani also received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Trevisani is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery (FASCRS) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He is board certified by the American College of Physician Executives (CPE) and is a member of the Iroquois CMO Group.
