Our Donation Council will sponsor an Organ Donor Awareness Day on Thursday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the back of our Cafeteria. Come and sign up to be eligible for two prizes and register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor.
The Medical Center’s Donation Council works with the Center for Donation and Transplant to increase awareness at the hospital and throughout our community.
Currently in the United States, there are over 100,000 people waiting for a life-saving transplant. Another name is added to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) waiting list every 14 minutes and an average of 18 people die due to the lack of transplantable organs every day.There are 9,500 people on the New York State waiting list according to the Center for Donation and Transplant.
