The St. Elizabeth Medical Center Donation Council will sponsor an Organ Donor Awareness Day Thursday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in our cafeteria. All are welcome to stop by to learn about organ donation and register to be eligible for one of two door prizes! New York State has one of the lowest number of registered organ donors.The Donation Council, working with the Center for Donation & Transplant,wants to create an awareness of the importance of organ donation.According to the CDT, over 9,500 people in New York State are waiting for an organ transplant. The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) reports that there are currently over 100,000 people waiting for a transplant nationwide. PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING THE GIFT OF LIFE! |  |
